How to encourage your own creativity
How to encourage your own creativity to flourish
Creativity is a very important aspect of the world, which is why there is a separate section about it on this site. Some people have bundles of it flowing from their minds and others need to try a little harder to get the thought-process started. However, everyone has creativity in one form or another and if you have trouble finding yours, here are a few ways in which you can encourage it to make itself known.
One sure-fire way to at least get you thinking a bit differently is to do something that is out of your comfort zone. Pick an activity that you have not done before but have always wanted to do, such as rock-climbing, taking an evening class or playing some foxy bingo. When you are doing something new, often you have to concentrate harder on it, which in turn ensures that your mind is more involved with the subject. This effort can yield surprising results, as often being in a new situation can stimulate your thoughts and ideas.
Another way in which you can encourage your creativity to flow, is to actually step back from what you are trying to do and have a break. Relaxing your mind from a frustrating situation can actually enable your subconscious to work on it for you, while you relax and replenish your energy. This contributes to the moment when a brilliant idea suddenly pops into your head without you having had to think consciously about it.
You are much more likely to be creative in an area of your life that you are very interested in. If you enjoy doing something, then the new ideas are likely to flow, along with your enthusiasm for the subject. So find your passion in life and get creative.
